Interactive Poem – installation

By: Lilia Pérez

Interactive poem about the memory the body of the loved and lost in which the gesture is the main ingredient. The words of the poem rest on the back of a female character in such a way and size appear unreadable to the viewer. The only way to read the poem is caressing the words and through them touching the character. The contact of the hand makes every word grow and get closer until it a triggers a voice that utters them. The user can access each word in a linear or random way thus building many poems, many caresses. When touch happens simultaneously, the fragmented poem resounds at once making a single character like the sound of a crowd.

The installation is also distributed on diskette format to the visitors of the exhibition as a tribute to an endangered digital storage medium and alluding to the pocket books.
